OVERVIEW

 This is a new proposal for the recently nominated PR Committee.  It was suggested by Michael Pelosi at the meeting in May that a new committee be formed to “promote” the Knight’s throughout the St. Basil community.  It appears that the Chapter has a slight PR problem.  What is meant by this is that the St. Basil Community does not fully appreciate nor understand all the great things that the Knight’s provide.  Therefore, it is the Committee’s intention to provide the following for the good of the order.

OBJECTIVE 

Communication to the St. Basil community on the actions, events, activities and accomplishments that the K.O.C. provides and achieves.

METHODS

 Notices in the Parish Bulletin of activities and events will be negotiated with Father Mac and administration for a ‘Knight’s Corner’.  This corner will be the Knight’s exclusive location in the bulletin.

Ads in the local papers when appropriate for upcoming events.

 Announcements in all church masses pertinent to events and positive things that the Knights have done/are doing.

 Annual Scholarships to be offered to St. Basil students who cannot afford tuition.  Conditions of these scholarships will be recommended by the Committee and then voted on by the Brothers.

 Sponsored Events in the Community where we can get a table and support the event and promote our cause.

 Public Relations in any form where the St. Basil Knight’s will be seen for all of their contributions to the Parish (and community).

 The above list is the 1^st Draft.  I highly recommend that this is reviewed by the Board and that a more comprehensive list be adopted and agreed upon for the Committee to pursue.  I will be happy to head up this committee, as suggested by the council on the night that I discussed this idea.
